Forms of Formalism n°3
27 June 2017
MEGA, Milano
On the occasion of the release of Forms of Formalism n°3, Louis De Belle, Delfino Sisto Legnani and Nicolò Ornaghi curated an exhibition at MEGA, in Milan, with photographs by Bas Princen, Maxime Guyon and Daniel Everett. The works by the photographers are part of Forms of Formalism n°3 and Forms of Formalism n°2.
Three works are specifically re-produced for the exhibition according to the subjets of the photographies through a thematic approach proposed by the curators. An image from Daniel Everett portraying a covered scaffolding is printed on a large PVC canvas in order to translate both the dimension and physical appearance of the image content. Maxime Guyon photography is framed through a light box in order to translate at best the precision of its photography. A set of images by Bas Princen are screen in a dark room emerging from a glowing surface as the architectures in the pictures emerge from a suspended landscape. Forms of Formalism is a series of small books gathering photographic works and critical essays around the notion of form and its –ism curated by Louis De Belle.
